INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF PRAYER NEW ORLEANS

Prayer Watch Worship Team

The Prayer Room is a place where young adults can come together and worship in a "Harp and Bowl" format, utilizing their musical gifts through instruments and vocals. Prayer and intercession is combined with music and singing, creating an atmosphere of intimacy with Jesus and connecting to the Father-heart of God. Our God delights in us delighting in Him!

Harold & Erin Moreland, Founders of IHOP-NOLA

God laid it on Harold & Erins heart in 2011 to establish a House of Prayer within the New Orleans area. He supplied a building, equipment, musicians, singers, and intercessors from various church's and ministries. They have been honored and humbled since then to oversee this House of Prayer. In July of 2014 God moved them to Kansas City to become involved at IHOP-KC and Forerunner Christian Fellowship. They will continue to oversee IHOP-NOLA as spiritual leaders in prayer, guidance, support, and vision.

WHAT IS THE PRAYER ROOM?

Established in July of 2011, IHOP-NOLA's vision has been to supply a "common ground" meeting place for believers within the Greater New Orleans area that consists of a "corporate prayer closet" atmosphere, where they can come to pray, join in corporate intercession, worship, and teaching, encountering Jesus in such an intimate way that it will challenge their hearts to abide in His presence 24/7.

While many young adults are drawn to the community of the prayer room, folks from all ages are welcome to connect with us as well as join in as worship and prayer leaders. We are always seeking those gifted and desiring-of worship & intercession.

HARP & BOWL WORSHIP:

Harp and Bowl is not a new style of worship, but a restoration of what once existed here on earth, and is a reflection of what is happening before the throne of God continually.

King David established praise and worship mixed with music and prayer in the Tabernacle of David (I Chronicles 15 & 16). During his reign, there was constant praise and worship, twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week before the Ark of the Covenant. For over thirty years they worshiped God wholeheartedly and He blessed the nation of Israel in mighty ways. God promised in Acts 15 and Amos 9:11 that one day He would restore the Tabernacle of David. Harp and Bowl is a foreshadowing of that restoration, and what we do is in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David. Whenever the Davidic style of worship has been restored, God has blessed His people with mighty signs and wonders. Revelations 5:8 tells us that the four living creatures and twenty-four elders fall before the Lamb. Each one holds a harp and a bowl. The harp represents music and the bowl represents the prayers of the believers. A common feature of harp and bowl are antiphonal singers, who use the Bible as a song book, singing and declaring the Word of God along with instruments that accompany the singers.

God is raising up mighty prayer warriors and prophetic worshipers in New Orleans to be watchmen on the wall through prayer, missions, and justice.
